Practice Highlights:  

• Large facility project development.  Mr. Collins has handled multiple complex industrial, office and retail purchase and sale transactions, including setting up of ownership and investor structures, appearances before relevant jurisdictions, drafting CC&R’s, Association documents, construction agreements, leases, and ultimate asset disposition documents.

• Ownership and Investor documents.  Mr. Collins has extensive experience in the review and establishment of ownership structures to accomplish tax objectives (primarily 1031 exchanges), real estate exchanges, and securities goals, including formation of entities and drafting of all required documentation.

• Project Financing.  Mr. Collins has drafted bank and insurance financing documents for large scale projects as well as private financing documents.

• Complex case and matter management.   Mr. Collins has extensive experience directing and managing real estate litigation, including title insurance and escrow, easements, railroad rights of way, insurance bad faith, construction, mechanic’s liens, probate.  Mr. Collins has also managed commercial and business matters, including entity dissolution, and trade secret and competition issues.

• Appeals.  Mr. Collins has also directed civil appeals in the Court of Appeals for the Third District in California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
